Astounding research reports of the ease of second language acquisition
in children before puberty and yet there is almost a complete absence
of its application in their early years of school.
The Enrichment Centers of Texas wishes to bridge this gap
by offering:

Our focus is not only on a student's
intellectual pursuits, but also on social, artistic, and emotional growth,
thus contributing to their overall development.
Our classes are interesting and inviting
to the mind of the child. We guide kids through problem solving techniques
to build self-confidence, higher level thinking and a sense of adventure.
We maintain a low student to teacher ratio and we hire native speakers
whenever possible.

It
is our experience that children learn by doing.
Our programs are active throughout the class time, using the
whole body to absorb the target language. We provide valuable learning experiences
in a meaningful context that is both ACTIVE and INTERACTIVE. We utilize the
stress-free TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE (TPR) curriculum developed by Dr. James
J. Asher for second language acquisition.
TPR duplicates first language acquisition as observed between
parent and child. The parent verbally communicates a request and the child
responds with the appropriate physical action. These "language-body conversations,"
as Asher describes them, are meaningful in that the child's physical response
signals understanding. We duplicate this method for second language acquisition
in our classes and programs. A child that learns a second language before
puberty will learn to speak that language accent free.

Our one hour language classes meet once a week throughout
the semester in the fall and spring. These classes are designed to be
a fun adventure into second languages using the TPR approach. Kids break
away from grammar based learning to internalize a second language through
movement, music, drama and functional role playing.
